Brain concussion
Concussion is a closed head injury that causes changes in mental status. It most commonly occurs in car accidents, during sports, violent traumas, or falls. Diagnosis is based on the nature of the injury, presenting symptoms, and signs. Typical symptoms include headache, slowed or foggy thinking, and memory difficulties. Symptoms of the condition may improve or worsen, but usually resolve within 1 month. In complicated cases, a head CT scan or magnetic resonance imaging is performed.
