Brain aneurysm is a pathological dilation of the cerebral artery wall. Most often these aneurysms are found at the branching points of the main arteries. Enlarged blood vessels, depending on the size and location, can compress nerves or brain tissue. They can also rupture and cause serious complications and death. Aneurysms typically remain asymptomatic until they rupture. The diagnosis is confirmed by head computed tomography, lumbar puncture, cerebral angiography, computed angiography, magnetic resonance angiography. Treatment aims to occlude the aneurysm endovascularly or surgically, depending on the location and size of the aneurysm.
