Diet when there is dysphagia

Diet

Due to inflammation of the esophagus or obstruction of the esophagus, the final stage of swallowing is disrupted because food cannot pass from the throat to the stomach. Patients with esophageal dysphagia are less likely to aspirate, food or liquid less frequently enters the airways than those with dysphagia developing after a stroke. It is recommended to consume a more calorie-dense, liquid cream consistency diet.
