Impaired chewing
Impaired chewing refers to difficulties in the ability to bite and chew food properly. This condition arises due to weakness in the muscles involved in mastication, which can make it hard to break down food, leading to issues with swallowing and digestion. Individuals experiencing impaired chewing may find it challenging to eat certain types of food, especially those that are tough or require significant effort to chew. This symptom is often seen in conditions that affect muscle strength and coordination, such as myasthenia gravis.
