Polyuria
Polyuria is a condition characterized by the production of abnormally large volumes of urine. Typically, a person experiences polyuria when they produce more than 3 liters of urine in a 24-hour period. Common symptoms include frequent urination and increased thirst (polydipsia). Polyuria can result from various causes, including uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, certain medications (like diuretics), high fluid intake, and certain kidney disorders. Managing the underlying cause is crucial for treating polyuria effectively.
