Symptoms

Retinal vein occlusion is a common cause of sudden painless vision loss in one eye. The highest risk of developing this condition is in elderly individuals with hypertension, diabetes, atherosclerosis, or glaucoma. In younger individuals, the main risk factors are vasculitis and hypercoagulable states.
