Teeth grinding is a common clinical phenomenon in both children and adults. It is the patient’s unconscious strong teeth clenching, grinding, causing a grinding noise. Teeth grinding can be diurnal and related to sleep. Stress, emotions, personality type can trigger teeth grinding, but it can also be caused by neurological disorders (such as Parkinson’s disease), developmental disorders, or medications. Due to this pathology, the teeth wear down, the jaw muscles enlarge, they become tense, painful. Teeth grinding can be a cause of headaches, tooth pain, and disrupt a partner’s sleep.
